Minister of the Interior (Tunisia) discusses enhanced cooperation in Civil Protection with Algerian Counterpart: Exploring Revival of 1985 Agreement

On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, Minister of the Interior, Mr. Kamal Al-Fiqi, hosted the Algerian Director General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boglav Boulam, at the Ministry's headquarters. Discussions centered around the current state of cooperation between the two nations in civil protection, exploring avenues for improvement. The potential reinvigoration of the cooperation agreement, signed in 1985, was also deliberated upon. This consideration aims to align the agreement with legislative changes in both countries and modernize working methods and approaches. The meeting coincided with the guest's participation in the activities of the Joint Committee for Cooperation in the Field of Civil Protection, conducted on January 23rd and 24th in Tabrqa city.

The R3 Accelerator/Civil Security from Space programme (CSS), aims to enhance the contribution of space solutions to support the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, for the substantial reduction of economic losses as well as losses in lives, livelihoods, and health due to climate-induced crises.
